Even if getting the logo designed is the last consideration in the formalisation of your new business venture, there is way more to selecting a logo for your business than may be first anticipated.
For many of the greatest and most successful businesses and companies of this world, that distinctive air of familiarity and trust is simply reinforced by that business’ logo. But what goes into selecting a logo though because there are indeed some businesses which spend a lot of time and effort going through thousands upon thousands of designs, only to ultimately settle on something which may appear to be simpler than what they may have first thought they wanted?
We’ll look at four different examples of relatively well-known logos to emphasise the single most important criterion for choosing a logo for your business, which is what your logo communicates about your business. Basically if someone who has never heard of your business before and they then obviously don’t know exactly what it is your business does, by simply looking at your logo for the very first time, they should get a fairly good idea of what you’re all about.
With Facebook’s logo it’s perhaps all about the name and what it describes. A “book of faces” if you like, but the logo is presented in somewhat of a borderline-dull manner, which basically communicates to the user that they now have access to a platform which they themselves will add a lot of colour and character to by sharing their social experience on that platform. They must essentially take it and make it their own.
- Slots Heaven
You can tell that Slots Heaven is a casino just by looking at its logo. In fact, I’d go as far as even saying this is a great example of what a logo should look like in terms of what its design communicates. Neon-type illumination accurately suggest casino entertainment, while the many different colours used attest to an online casino with a very wide variety of games to choose from as entertainment. What’s even more intriguing about this logo is that you wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s purely an online casino or a physical casino; which is great because their online casino experience falls nothing short of a physical casino experience.
- Amber Music
You might not have heard of Amber Music, but chances are you’ve heard their music if you regularly watch hit movies with great soundtracks or popular, captivating television series. Amber music’s logo says it all — it tells the onlooker that this is a music production company, but the name is presented as a signature-type logo, which accurately mirrors the unique music they compose. The “Amber” sound in various productions is distinctive once you’ve been made aware of some of their compositions.
So if you are indeed in the process of selecting a logo for your business, it’s important to ensure it communicates what you’re all about.
